Metabolism

I wanted to share some tips on how to raise your metabolism the smart and effective way. As a professional athlete for many years and a trainer now, I see how important fuel for the body is to keep up with training and every day life including keeping your brain fueled up as well. What we consume throughout the day and how much of it directly impacts our metabolism and if we will gain or loose weight. One must also know how your metabolism works. This determines the rate of how we burn our calories. The body first break down carbohydrates, then fat and protein, so keep this in mind when eating.

Of course you and I both know that exercising is a key element is getting your metabolism up.

The next important element is Breakfast; we have al heard the slogans and seen the commercials and they are all true; breakfast is the most important meal of the day and will kick start your metabolism. There are no skipping meals, as this will only slow down your body’s metabolism because your body will have to work harder to make up for the nutrients it is missing from not eating.

Eating properly, well-portioned meals every 3 hours and eliminating alcohol, caffeine, fast food and sugary foods and picking lean protein and vegetables will increase your metabolism and give you the energy you need to make it throughout the day with clarity and focus.

Here are a few foods to keep in mind to help increase your metabolism:

  • Whey Protein
  • Almonds
  • Spinach
  • Beans
  • Natural Yogurt
  • Eggs
  • Vegetables
  • Whole Grains
  • Lean Protein

Live the STRONGEST my friends!
